Driftpile Cree Nation Housing Project

Driftpile Cree Nation proposes to construct three new 112 square-meter housing developments on lots 408, 409, and 410 in Driftpile, Alberta. All three housing units feature the legal land description SW 29-73-12 W5. The proposed project would include the clearing of vegetation, and excavation at the sites in order to prepare for housing construction. Based on the location of the proposed project, impacts to water bodies and wildlife are not predicted to be significant.

May 24, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments Notice of Intent to make a Determination (iaac-aeic.gc.ca) until June 26, 2023 respecting the determination.
