Bigstone Cree First Nation Flood Recovery Program: Culvert 166A-10 TSAG ID No. 07 Replacement

In June of 2018, First Nations Technical Services Advisory Group (TSAG) completed a Disaster Recovery Road Project Inspection, following the state of emergency that was declared by the Nation due to poor road conditions. Spring melt and summer rainfall created impassable conditions from road overtopping. The roads affected by this event, primarily roads within Reserve 166A, composed the scope of the inspection that TSAG completed. Four (4) culvert locations remain to be addressed. A total of twelve (12) larger culverts are proposed within the four (4) crossing locations to increase flow capacity during flood events and are proposing to include mandatory improvements by raising the profile of the road from between 0.3m and 2m.

End of Public Comment Period

October 15, 2021 – The public period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
