Flying Dust - New Water Treatment Plant

The Proposed Project

Planning Design construction of a new water treatment plant in Flying Dust First Nation.  Specifically the project will consist of a new water treatment plant of approximately 500 square meters; 2 new wells, and a 150mm raw water main of approximately 1,350 lin.m. in length; WTP located in SW36-TWP 59-R17-W3; wells located in SE1-TWP60-R7-W3. Purpose of all works is to provide treated water to the Flying Dust First Nation.

Water treatment plant will be built on a small portion of SW36-TWP-59-R17-W3; Well are on SE1-TWP60-R7-W3; Raw water main in the road ditch located in SW36-TWP59-R17-W3 and NW36-TWP59-R17-W3.  All areas were previously disturbed for road construction or actively being farmed.

Project planning activities include Feasibility Study, geotechnical study at the water treatment plant location, design, tendering, operation and maintenance. Waste generation includes one time generation of construction waste and operational backwash waste generation.  Construction waste will be collected in waste collection bins and transported to the nearest off reserve solid waste landfill.  Backwash waste stream will be directed to the nearest gravity sewer.
