Fort McMurray First Nation Water and Wastewater Infrastructure
Fort McMurray First Nation is proposing new water and wastewater servicing infrastructure, suitable to provide water and sewage servicing for 600 people on the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation reserve. Potable water will be provided (as treated) by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) via a service pipe (treatment is off reserve, by others). The project includes a new potable water reservoir and pumping station, new water distribution piping, new sewage collection piping ("low pressure" collection type system), a retrofitted sewage lift-station ("slip-in" FPR tank, new pumps and controls) and a new sewage force main to RMWB regional sewage force main for treatment. The project will have an expected lifespan of 25 years. This project includes works both on federal (Reserve) and provincial lands.
