Dene Tha' First Nation: Bushe River Wastewater Treatment Plant Project

Dene Tha' First Nation proposes to construct and operate a new wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) to service the current and future (20 year design) wastewater treatment needs of the community. The WWTF will be designed such that the effluent water quality meets or exceeds the requirements set out in the federal Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulation (WSER). The new wastewater system will include 1.4 km of new forcemain piping, 0.5 km of new (gravel) road, one new liftstation, one new lagoon cell (16,500 cubic meter capacity), one new truck dump site, and one horizontal flow submerged attached growth reactor. Wastewater effluent will discharge to an adjacent wetland.
