Maintenance Dredging at Rivière-au-Tonnerre Fishing Harbour

The Small Craft Harbours Branch of Fisheries and Oceans Canada proposes to undertake maintenance dredging at Rivière-au-Tonnerre fishing harbour, in the Québec province.

 

The maintenance dredging aims to provide safe and accessible facilities for local fishermen. 

 

The scope of this project includes maintenance dredging of the channel and the basin.

 

The proposed dredging will be carried out by means of a barge with opening bottom, a hydraulic shovel or a crane equipped with a half shell bucket.

 

Dredged sediments will be managed on land.

Notice of Determination

April 27st, 2020 –  Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Transport Canada have determined that the proposed project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Mitigation measures will be implemented for the following: air, water, fish.

Therefore, Fisheries and Oceans Canada may carry out the project and Transport Canada can exercise its powers to enable the project to be carried out..
