Pointe-aux-Basques wharf modernization project at the Port of Sept-Îles

The current state of Pointe-aux-Basques wharf at the Port of Sept-Îles requires immediate action, given the age of the infrastructure. The work mainly consists of installing a new curtain wall (sheet pile) in front of the existing wharf over a length of approximately 220 meters, replacing the upper tie rods, improving the defense and mooring system and redesigning the surface of the terminal. These improvements will make it possible to develop the offer in transit of goods by improving the carrying capacity which will be greatly increased at the terminal. The project also includes upgrading of drainage pipes in anticipation of climate change, with the addition of a runoff treatment system. This modernization will secure the infrastructure that is currently under significant usage restrictions. The useful life of the infrastructure is almost reached (95% and more).
