Basin Dredging, New Mills Small Craft Harbour, New Brunswick

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Small Craft Harbours is proposing to dredge the basin at the Small Craft Harbour in New Mills, New Brunswick in late summer of 2020. The total dredge area is approximately 10000 square meters, with an expected dredge volume of approximately 20000 cubic meters, which will bring the basin depth to 1.5 meters below chart datum. It is anticipated that dredging will be carried out by barge-mounted excavator, with the dredge material being disposed of in a newly constructed on-site containment cell.  It should be noted, however, that the dredging method will ultimately be determined by the successful contractor.
