Kiashke Zaaging Anishinaabek - Small Scale Waste Transfer Design and Construction

Work includes the construction of a small-scale waste transfer station, located approximately 3.5 km north of the turn off to the community of KZA Gull Bay First Nation on Highway 527. Gull Bay First Nation is located approximately 200 km north of Thunder Bay, Ontario (Site). Site is a former community farming area, now re-purposed for waste management planning. There is an access road and historic clearing at the proposed site. Otherwise, there is no infrastructure currently on the property. The closest nearby infrastructure is Highway 527 located east of the Site. Physical work activities include: - Construction of a raised ramp, and a sawtooth-style waste deposition area with a truck turn-around area for residential and commercial waste recieving, including parking and staging areas; - Construction of an 8 m wide, 750 m long granular access road along the exisitng access road alignment; - Construction of 4 m wide, 280 m long truck haul road; - Installation of a 9 m double wide chain link gate and 60 m long, 1.6 m high chain link fence at the site entrance; and, - Installation of perimeter drainage ditches along the access road and a drainage culvert at the site entrance.
