Thunder Bay Airport Remedial Trial, Thunder Bay, Ontario

Transport Canada proposes to complete a remediation project at Thunder Bay Airport in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  The project will include placement of 1-2 temporary containers (prefabricated sea containers or similar, approximately 40' x 8') which will contain a remediation treatment unit, excavation of a trench (approximately 30-40m long) from which groundwater will be pumped and treated by the unit before the water is put back into the ground.  Associated works will include installation of electrical lines (approx. 1km) connecting the container to the existing power system, piping to connect the trench to the treatment unit, and a laydown area.
