Matachewan New Housing Construction Project

Matachewan First Nation is located in Northeastern Ontario, approximately 30 kilometers southeast of the town of Matachewan and 60 kilometers west of Kirkland Lake. The project includes the construction of two (2) new pre-fabricated three-bedroom single-family housing units. The housing construction is occurring on undeveloped land and will have individual septic systems, and connect to the existing water lines in the community.


Latest update

November 30, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination https://www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca/050/evaluations/document/142243 and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
