Naicatchewenin Watermain Replacement Project

Naicatchewenin First Nation is located in Northwestern Ontario on Rainy River Lake (Northwest Bay), approximately 70 km northwest of Fort Frances. The project includes replacement of an approximately 150 m long section of watermain located under the Footprint River (Whitehorse River) associated with the water distribution system upgrade to support the community's fire protection.


Latest update

November 18, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination https://www.iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/document/142104?blnPreview=true and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
