Harrington Harbor hauling slip repair

The project consists in the Harrington Harbor hauling slip repair. The works include, in particular, the removal of part of wood decking, the unsound concrete demolition, the repair of the slipway pillars and the installation of new concrete. The work is scheduled for fall 2023.

May 29th, 2023 - Notice of determination for Harrington Harbour Slip Repair

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH) has issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

· impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;

· comments received from the public; and

· technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

The authority is satisfied that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Mitigation measures will be taken for several elements of the environment including: air and water. 

Consequently, the project can proceed.
