Opposed to CP rail expansion

Hello,

As I am sure you are aware the community of Pitt Meadows and most of its residents strongly oppose the large expansion of CP logistics rail yard in Pitt Meadows, BC. This is a suburban community at the merger of two major waterways. To have fuel storage, a large increase to rail traffic, and the associated noise and pollution is reckless and very dangerous. Having it in a popular and populated community makes no absolutely sense. We have been residents of Pitt Meadows for 15 years and are by no means anti development. However irresponsible expansion of this rail yard will have serious negative impacts in this community. CP has tried to fast track this by giving little notice of its intentions and has received overwhelmingly negative feedback about the project. We acknowledge the need for transport options from the west coast but there are other options in more industrial and less populated areas. The city council opposes this project and the residents oppose this project. So why would it ever be allowed to go ahead?

I wont bother going through the long list of reasons this is a bad idea and merely reference you to the position of city council which we support completely. Do the right thing and tell CP no for a change and prove you will listen to the community.

Regards,

Tod and Robyn Chisholm
