Escape Island Installation on Saddle Island

Red Bay's 2011 management plan identified strategies to develop a menu of visitor experience opportunities to enhance how Canadians discover, enjoy and connect with the historic site. Site management have proposed an escape game, developed by Fetch Quest, based on the history of the Red Bay Basque Whaling Station. The game requires participants to complete a number of puzzles and trivial tasks with props and equipment in order to successfully solve the game. To facilitate the placement of some of the props, site management is proposing a small addition to the island's existing trail. A board walk, approximately 5 feet in length, will extend from the existing trail and allow participants to step off the main trail unto an 8 x 12-meter wooden platform that is placed upon a gravel bedding.
