Magnetawan First Nation Wastewater System Upgrades Project – Public Comments Invited

April 28, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Wastewater System Upgrades Project, located in Magnetawan First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Magnetawan First Nation is proposing a Wastewater Treatment System Upgrades Project at their community. The proposed physical activities for the project will include: site preparation; replacement of sewage pumping structures and construction of a new wastewater treatment system; installation of a new sanitary forcemain; decommissioning the original wastewater treatment plant; and site restoration.
