Tobacco Plains Indian Band New Antenna Proposal for Existing Tower on the Tobacco Plains No. 2 Reserve - Public Comments Invited

2023-01-17 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Tobacco Plains Indian Band is proposing the installation of new radiocommunication antenna system on an existing tower 28 meters in height for public safety services, located on Tobacco Plains No. 2 Reserve.

 

An antenna consisting of one mounting mast with two circular dipoles (loops) attached, measuring 3.20 m in length and 1.01 m in width will be mounted to the existing tower at 28 meters above ground level and will operate in the VHF band between 148 MHz – 174 MHz.

 

This new antenna may be replaced or have other minor modifications in the future, as required for any Radiocommunication service.
