Pelican Lake Timber Harvesting Plan 2021-22 - Public Comments invited

December 22, 2020 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Pelican Lake Timber Harvesting Plan, located on Chitek Lake IR 191 and Chitek Lake IR 191A, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Pelican Lake First Nation has requested that a timber permit be issued for the 2021-2022 to Tolko Industries, who plan to harvest up to a total softwood volume of 40,445 m3, and a hardwood volume of 114,340 m3 from from cutblocks on Chitek Lake IR 191 and Chitek Lake IR 191A.
