Dear Ms. Perry:

SUBJECT: Responses to Information Requests (IR) for the proposed Scotian Basin Exploration Drilling Project

I am writing to inform you of the results of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency's (Agency) review of the responses you provided on March 31, 2017 to the Information Requests (IRs) sent to you December 23, 2016 and February 17, 2017. The Agency developed the IRs after a review of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and EIS Summary for the Scotian Basin Exploration Drilling Project proposed by BP Canada Energy Group ULC.

The Agency finds that all responses provide sufficient information to commence a detailed review, with the exception of IR-114. The Agency therefore re-iterates its request as stated in IR-114 and would be pleased to meet with you to elaborate on what is missing from the response. The timeline for the EA will remain paused until the Agency has received the requested information.

The Agency will conduct a more detailed review of the IR responses, during which it will seek input from government expert departments and Indigenous participants. The Agency may request further information based on the outcome of that review.
