Lake Babine Nation - Telus Telecommunications Tower - Lake Babine

The Project includes construction of a 60 m self-support Telus telecommunications tower, and installation of associated equipment including an 8' x 10' equipment shelter, and a 40 kW Cat diesel generator set with a fuel tank. The tower and associated equipment will be constructed on a 15 m x 15 m gravel pad compound area with a 4 m wide by 7 m long right of way access area.  A chainlink fence will enclose the compound area, preventing unauthorized access to the tower. The electrical routing extending from the tower will include:  a 64 m underground power routing from a new service drop pole to the proposed shelter, and a 2 m overhead power line from an existing hydro pole to the new service drop pole. The Project footprint is occurring within a previously disturbed area that is no longer forested, but contains shrubby regrowth that will need to be cleared to facilitate the Project.
