North Caribou Lake First Nation - Teacherages Project

North Caribou Lake is constructing new teacherages located behind Ernie's Road, this is a new subdivision that is being developed near the new school building.  The project includes the construction of two 3-bedroom units (111.85 m2), three 4-bedroom units (127.46 m2) and two 5-bedroom units (56.82 m2).  All units will be constructed in undeveloped lots on a new residential street with new servicing that will be connected into the main line service.  The teacherages will be modular built homes with new foundation, and the necessary water and sewer connection as well as hydro connection.  The teacherages will be built approximately 150 m from the nearest body of water (Weagamow Lake).


Latest update

July 22, 2020 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination https://www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca/050/evaluations/document/135503 and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
