Stop NWMO's DGR

Dear NWMO,

I haven't, and it seems your constiuents haven't either, had time to fully review the impacts of this DGR.  From the little I've gleaned so far, this seems like a very rash and dangerous endeavor, poorly planned and in the true nuclear industrial fashion, concocted and pushed forward in a very non-transparent way excluding the public to be severely impacted by this project.

In the U.S. citizens critical of nuclear energy are horrified by the recent agreement between Canada and the NW Compact states to take Canada's nuclear waste and dispose of it in Clive, Utah.  As with the DGR this was agreed upon without due diligence in including the public, and the transporation aspect of the movement of this waste, though it is low level, presents a great danger.  This waste dump in Utah does not have the support of community and it threatens the Great Salt Lake--another environmental catastrophe.  I urge Canada to reconsider this move, come to its senses and deal with its own waste responsibly.  And it doesn't sound the DGR will be a responsible solution.

Not including transportation in your environmental impact statement is a huge problem.  Aside from the fact that nuclear energy is not safe or reality-based for sustaining a sane and liveable world generationally, burying it to forget about it when your country is still creating this waste with its nucler power plants is simply ecocidal.

The Amercian Nuclear Industry and its government have sold Canada a bill of dirty and dangerous goods sadly.  Wake up while you still can and support truely renewable energies.

Sincerely,

Laura Feldman
