I am a settler living on Anishinaabe territory, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. I am gravely concerned about the potential for irreversible and catastrophic consequences of this project. In terms of risk management, this project appears to have a very high likelihood of incident(s) (particularly in transportation) and very, very high consequence should an incident occur. The risk of nuclear contamination of our water and ecosystems and the risk to human safety and well-being is immeasurable against any economic rationale. I am also concerned about the short comment period provided. This project requires a widely informed and engaged community consultation and rigorous ethical considerations given the severity and longevity of the impacts being considered and the span of watersheds at risk of impact.
