Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for Canada's Used Nuclear Fuel Project
lack of care for 20% of world's fresh water

It is a serious lack of care to spend so much time and resources on planning a site for a deep geologic deposit without first considering transportation. All our current transportation systems flow along the Great Lakes waterway. Transportation accidents will happen and that puts our water system at serious risk. Everything flows back down to Southern Ontario from our water system so it is not logical to push waste to the top of the hill for storage. The site choice should be based on a logical harm reduction plan that takes transportation along our precious water ways seriously. It should not be based on single "community willingness" or resopondent numbers. Logic and stragegy to reduce harm would be best. We must put the wellbeing of our Great Lakes basin first for our survival.
