Dear Government of Canada,

I'm writing today to express my deep concern and objection to the way the "Deep Geological Repository project" is being carried out. First, it impacts many sectors and regions in our beautiful North, and ought to be designated for a FULL IMPACT ASSESSMENT and PUBLIC HEARING. Pushing through major projects without proper consideration and conusultation is not in the spirit of the democracy we are are struggling to enact.

In the very least, TRANSPORTATION must be included as part of the (albeit limited) impact assessment. Making decisions based on the expeirence of transportation in other parts of the country or province is short-sighted and ego centric. Transportation in the North is very different and absolutely needs to be considered. As it stands now, it is not a part of the (limited) impact assessment.

I also call for the thorough examination of alternatives to this project and alternative ways for carrying out this project if it is to be moving forward. Clearly identified options lead to better decision making.

Finally, the Initial Project Description of this project fails to provide the necessary information. Please provide a detailed project description to all constituents prior to any furhter decision making.

Thank you.

Brenda Quenneville
