Waste Assessment

The assessment of the dangers involved in storing this waste in NW ON is flawed in many ways.  I spent my childhood in Eldorado SK and visited in 2005. Thirty three years after the mine closed there were still multiple fenced area because of high radiation levels.

Any time something is moved or stored there is a potential for damage to the containers. Human error cannot be simulated in testing. From the steel manufacturer, and the container welder to the machine operator at the storage facility and final inspection personnel.

In an age when winter highway maintenance contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder and the rapid increase in traffic volumes, and inexperienced drivers the potential for serious accidents is growing. The transport aspects need to be included in the safety assessments. Use of public roads to move nuclear waste is too dangerous.
