Nuclear waste

I have not had time to read the Governments plan for the storage of nuclear waste so I'm sorry if some of these questions have already been answered.

Why are we not recycling these used fuel rods?

If this project does proceed why is it not being processed for burrial before being shipped to the site?

Why if this material has to be buried in the Canadian shield don't you pick a spot within 100 miles of the reactor ( shield extends down to approximately Barrie) which is served by divided highway? ( for safety of transpotation )

How can you pick a site for this project without taking into cosideration how you are going to get the material there ?

Can we not find a use for these spent rods?

Is the government going to hire drivers, buy trucks and maintain the equipment? ( We have seen in the north what happens when   contractors take over government services )

Do you know how many kilometers of highway are not divided on route to theproposed site? ( if the trucks hit head on they could be hitting at 180 plus kilometers an hour)

In summary I feel we need a full impact study done taking all aspects of this project. We also need transparency. Everything about this project should be available to the public
