NWMO Rhetoric

Living in the community of South Bruce, I have heard five plus years of the NWMO's rhetoric about the DGR. And now it seems that Northern Ontario (Ignace and WLON) are receiving the same rhetoric. with the exactly the same information word for word. South Bruce was not the "chosen" location, but the NWMO remains in ownership of 1500 acres of farmland in South Bruce and they will not disclose what the plan for this land is .....the second DGR?

Public meetings were held in South Bruce but they were only NWMO focused. Questions and view points from other replicable people and the community were disregaded or ignored, to be answered later but never were. The same seems to be occrring in the north.

The complete plans are never disclosed or they do not have a plan....yet! NWMO calls it "Adaptive Phased Management" (APM) . What is "adaptive" meaning?

NWMO say this is a 160 year plan. Does that mean nuclear power will not longer be in use after 160 years?  Nuclear waste readiation goes onway beyond that time period.

And the transportation of all that nuclear waste! Transportation routes from Bruce Power and the other location are going to affect a large area. Do the people have a say about it? Are the main highways to the north to be used, like the congested summer routes, the snow strorm bound winter highways, all going threw or near towns and cities? How much of a say do those people have. This APM is being implemented on behalf of all Canadians. How many Canadians even know about this plan? Many in South Bruce were unaware about the DGR.

The nuclear industry should have solved this problen in the beginning, not years later when the large amount of waste has accumulated.  NUCLEAR POWER IS NOT CLEAN ENERGY. It is claimed that the "waste" has been safely stored at the source for all these years.  Keep it there and solve the problem there. Better still, maybe a use for this waste could be found.
