Transportation corridor

I live in Thunder Bay, and according to the NWMO proposal, I will be subjected to high level radioactive waste moving through my community three times a day for 50 years. Our northern highways (Hwy 11 and 17) have already been closed due to accidents and inclement weather several times over the last month. These highways also serve as access points for many northern indigenous communities and movement corridors for wildlife including large mammals. I believe it is foolish to move high level nuclear waste thousands of kilometers from where it is produced. I believe it is negligent to transport high level nuclear waste along these transportation corridors without an environmental assessment.  I would like the federal government to include nuclear waste transportation corridors in an impact assessment of the nuclear waste disposal project. Please consider the impact that a nuclear accident would have on our northern communities and our environment, because it will happen.  You are fooling yourselves if you think nuclear waste transportation is foolproof.
