For years now, the NWMO has been including transportation of nuclear waste to the proposed dump in its presentations. It has even sposored science demonstrations at the school in Ignace, dropping eggs in containers from heights to apparently show that nuclear waste could be packaged to safely withstand the inevitable transport truck collisions on northern roads. It's egregious of the NWMO to now claim that road transport is already covered and need not be included in the Impact Assessment. It's an integral part of the proposed project and nothing like it has ever been done or contemplated on the planet. Transportation of the waste to the dump needs to be included in the Impact Assessment.

The project also clearly requires a full Federal Impact Assessment. Threatening the transportation corridors for half-a-century and downstream communities with contamination for half-a-million or more years requires the most comprehensive scrutiny possible.
