Boozhoo;
I am a member of Fort William First Nation (Anemki Wagiiw) and humbly state that I am recognized by my community as an Elder. I am a member of the eagle clan (migisi) which stands for LOVE in the seven sacred teachings. I see no love in a process that refuses to include transportation in the Impact Assessment. The proposal to transport nuclear waste - a dangerous substance through out traditional territory without our input shows no respect for us and the Courts will be our recourse if there is no full prior and informed consent.
I humbly state my position but I see no HUMILITY in the approach being taken by the NWMO. Arrogantly you the rush this process through with only a month allowed to submit results. This is patently unfair.I was appalled to see a photo in the Chronicle Journal showing a hand near a rod. The headline was Sessions Set Regarding NuclearWaste Storage ( January 10,2026). This struck me a the height of dishonesty- the bundles are radioactive and cannot be touched by a bare hand. There was no disclaimer. Be HONEST! Shame on you NWMO! You will stop at nothing to achieve you end. TRUTH means nothing to you. You can,t handle the truth which is why you are trying to eliminate transportation from the I.A.
Nor is there any BRAVERY in the way you are trying to silence those of us who love Mamma Aki- Mother Earth and are acting to protect the next seven generations. We say no to the burial of nuclear waste in the heart of mother earth and hence no to its transportation through our territories for decades and therefore generations to come.
Lastly is the teaching of Wisdom. It seems obvious to say this plan is unwise but your vision is clouded by the unlimited dollars that you spend to achieve this foolish plot.(including what I personally pay to Ontario Hydro). This is an existential threat to our life as we know it. We will not be excluded from this decision. We all must think with are hearts. I am hopeful that the wisdom of the Elders will prevail.
All my relaions;
