It is definitely time to be figuring out where to store spent nuclear waste bundles. This cannot be left any longer. Part of every human activity should include consideration of what to do with the waste.

My summary statement is that I support the use of the Revell Batholith for storage of nuclear waste, as long at the local peoples do. The Wabigoon Lake Okibway and citizens of Ignace need to approve the project first.

I am a retired exploration geologist, who lives a short distance southeast of the project. My home is at the southeast end of Marnion Lake, which is a little ways northeast of Atikokan. Preserving the natural environment is paramount to me. I understand that where I live I am not going to be influenced by the drainage direction of the watershed of the project. As I geologist I have toured and worked in so many underground mines that I have a good understanding of what the fdacilities may resemble, for proposed storage. I also specialized in the study of felsic to intermediate Intrusive igneous rocks, and comprehend how stable and non-porous they are. I do feel the rock of the Revell Batholith is well suited to a storage site.

I am in no way a nuclear fuels scientist.

But as a society we need to be responsible for our waste. I believe nuclear power plants are a good way of achieving electric power, and want to see this continue into the future. And to do that, the waste issue must be addressed. So I support the continuation of the Impact Assessment. And like I stated above, if the people who live nearest to the spot support it, I can support it.

THank you for this opportunity to comment on this important proposal.
