I oppose approval of this Deep Geological Repository as currently described because it excludes a central impact which is the decades-long transportation of high-level radioactive waste over public roads, bridges, and rail corridors. Any meaningful assessment must analyze transportation routes, accident and emergency-response planning, security risks, cumulative impacts on corridor communities, and the long-term liabilities created by moving these materials for many years. The project’s safety claims also rely on a 160-year project window while the hazard persists for far longer, and the description lacks a clear budget and plan for future generations. Please require a complete, cradle-to-grave impact assessment (including transportation) before considering any approval.
