To whom it may concern,
I am not opposed to nuclear power. I do have concerns about transporting waste across the province on a regular basis. I have read the precautions being taken to ensure the waste is safeguarded during transport, however, the only way to ensure there are no accidents is not to transport it at all. Store it on site. If this is not feasible, than shorten the distance for transportation, thereby reducing risk. If the project is to be the benefit to the northern communities it is touted to be--then move the entire project to the north. Put the facility creating the waste in Ignace as well and transport the waste a couple of hundred feet instead of hundreds of kilometres.
Thank you for this opportunity to share my thoughts.
