Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for Canada's Used Nuclear Fuel Project
Stop nuclear waste in our watershed!

Several decades ago, the NDP government of Howard Pawley passed Manitoba’s High-Level Radioactive Waste Act, because Manitobans were opposed to nuclear waste disposal in this province. Manitoba also opposed a proposed USA nuclear waste disposal site, that was likely to affect the Red River. The current preference for a nuclear waste disposal site lies within the NW Ontario watershed that eventually flows into Lake Winnipeg. It wasn't an environmentally sound idea during the 1980's and it certainly isn't a good idea now. I would like to see the Manitoba and Canadian governments take the health of people and the planet seriously by opposing nuclear waste disposal within our borders.
