To The Government of Canada, 

 

I realize that we need to store nuclear waste in vaults, deep within the ground, instead of in precarious, conventional warehouses on the edge of Lakes Ontario and Huron (which is the most dangerous, interim solution).

 

However, putting nuclear waste near Grassy Narrows First Nation, Ontario, a community still suffering from decades of mercury poisoning, is not only highly insensitive and cruel, but criminal under the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Do not do this! 

 

We need to limit and/or stop using nuclear as an energy source so that we curb/stop having to store its massive amounts of radioactive and poisonous waste in the Earth - which is ecocide by the way!
