The Bruce site makes more sense

Why has the Ignace site been chosen when there is an approved site in Bruce that is far closer to the reactors and is in a location that is not as pristine as the site is in Ignace? It will cost far more to haul the nuclear waste to Northwestern Ontario which has a poor network of roads. The highway #17 is difficient, has a lot of traffic on it, as well as a lot of accidents. We don't need more truck traffic on these roads.
For the sake of safety the waste should not be hauled any further than it needs to be, making Bruce the ideal repository site. It will also cost far less to haul the waste to Bruce which will lower costs that will ultimately be factored into the final cost on hydro bills. Having said this, nothing makes sense about sending nuclear waste all the way to Northwestern Ontario when there is a closer site to do so.
