Lakeview Well Development - Eskasoni First Nation

The project will consist of the installation of well pumps at three new production wells, installation of transmission mains (1,320 m) from the wells to a central water treatment plant, construction of a new water treatment plant (40 m2) and connection to the existing water distribution system, for an overall project footprint of 9,500 m2. New three phase power will be required to power the new well pumps and the water treatment building.

Project activities include Site Preparation (grubbing and grading of site); installation of new well pumps, installation of new water transmission line, construction of new water treatment building and to install new three phase power.

May 15, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until June 15, 2023 respecting that determination.
