Neqotkuk Women's Shelter

Tobique First Nation is proposing to build a Women's Shelter. The project consists of a single storey building with 8 total units. The total project building area is approximately 560 sq m and construction will include the building and parking areas.  Project activities include clearing and grubbing, the installation of access driveway/parking, construction of foundations, backfill and grading, utilities and services including well and septic as well as power and communication lines.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and Indigenous Services Canada intends to make an determination whether the proposed Neqotkuk Women’s Shelter, located in Tobique First Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse effects. To help inform this determination, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is inviting public comments until 04-08-2023 respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.
