South Lake Prescribed Fire

The South Lake Prescribed Fire (PF) is a 925-hectare area located west of Wasagaming bordering the south shores of Clear Lake and surrounding South Lake. This PF unit is also 3 km from the community of Onanole and under a kilometer from the seasonal community of Wasagaming. The objectives of this PF are to improve ecological integrity of grassland habitat and to reduce the risk of wildfire to the surrounding communities by reducing hazardous fuel accumulations. Due to the complexity in boundaries, the area has been divided into three subunits.
