Wagmatcook First Nation Elder's Housing Project

 The Proposed Project

Wagmatcook First Nation is proposing to build a 5 building Elder's Project. The project consists of a single story building of approximately 500 sq m which will have kitchen and dining facilities, spiritual and cultural rooms, meeting space and 6 residential rooms. Also included in the project are 4 detached 200 sq m - two unit lodges.  The total project building area is approximately 1300 sq m and construction will include the building and parking areas.  Project activities include clearing and grubbing and the installation of, access driveway/parking, construction of foundations, backfill and grading, utilities and services including water and sewer lines as well as power and communication lines.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) intend to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination CMHC and ISC are inviting public comments https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/document/146716?&culture=en-CA until 03/04/2023 respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.
