Sass River / Prebble Creek Embankment Repair and Gabion Installation by the Government of the Northwest Territories

Due to recent years increased spring freshet volume and flow rate, two bridges at Sass River and Prebble Creek require embankment repair and installation of a gabion basket retention system. The work will include excavation at a depth of 50 cm below bed level. Sand bags and silt fencing will be used during foundation construction to mitigate the influx of sediment into the water courses. DFO and the Parks Canada Cultural Resources department will be contacted for review prior to creation of the BIA
