Mannix Pit Gravel Extraction, Processing and Reclamation 2022 to 2032

Parks Canada is proposing to extract and process gravel from a 4-hectare area over 10 years at the existing gravel pit ‘Mannix Pit' in Banff National Park. The gravel will be used to support Parks Canada's ongoing road and highway operations and maintenance. The works will include layout, clearing, grubbing, stripping, extraction, reclamation, and crushing.

July 29, 2022 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until August 28, 2022 respecting that determination.
