Plant 3 Dehydration Vent Line and Tank Replacement - Canadian Forces Base Suffield

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which consists of the replacement of a dehydration vent line and tank. Plant 3 dehydration unit vent line and underground knock out tanks are used to send produced steam/off gas to an incinerator to clean up the emissions, and needs to be replaced. The existing line and tank are over 25 years old and are showing corrosion and significant scale build up severely reducing the functionality of the system. Due to new knowledge gained since initial install in the mid 1990's, the new line and tank will be above ground and from the new tank to the existing incinerator will be below ground (as is the existing line).

Latest update

February 13, 2023— The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
