Sunchild First Nation Lagoon and Residential Access Road Project

Sunchild First Nation proposes to construct a 4 km road to access future residential lots and a sanitary lagoon on an undeveloped area south of the Baptiste River on its Sunchild No. 202 reserve lands. The location will require vegetation clearing, topographical survey, geotechnical investigation, earthwork, and construction of the roadway. The clearing area is approximately 11 hectares.

July 19, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination - Canada.ca (iaac-aeic.gc.ca) until August 19, 2022 respecting the determination.
