Modernize Chemical and Biological Laboratories

The Department of National (DND) proposes to construct a facility to assess the neurobehavioral impacts from blasts suffered by soldiers during deployment.

The Blast Injury Programme is a multi-centre DRDC initiative that will bring together several capabilities to address medical injuries inflicted on soldiers by exposure to blast; blast injury in the form of neurotrauma; shock from massive hemorrhage; and crush injury. Three other DRDC Centres will be involved at some level in the programme with the work from DRDC Suffield providing critical information to each Centre.

DND, at Canadian Forces Base Suffield is to execute a project to design the facility in 2021, with construction to follow in 2022 or later.
