Gravel Pit Activation

Grasslands National Park proposes to activate a gravel pit roughly 5 km north of Val Marie, SK. The purpose is to develop a nearby source of gravel and other earth materials for regular operational and maintenance uses in Grasslands National Park (e.g. road maintenance). The proposed pit will be located on the SE quarter of land location 7-T4-R13 W3M, which is not within proposed park boundaries and is not on gazetted national park lands. The proposed area is adjacent to historic and existing gravel pit developments, irrigation crops, and cultivated fields. This project will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment.
