NGTL West Path Delivery 2023 Project

On 23 October 2020, NOVA Gas Transmission Limited (NGTL) filed an application with the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) for the West Path Delivery 2023 Project (Project), for which Hearing GH-002-2020 was announced. The proposed Project includes the construction and operation of approximately 39.1 km of 48-inch nominal pipe size natural gas pipeline in three sections between Priddis and Blairmore, Alberta. If the Project is approved and built, some temporary infrastructure, such as access roads, will be required during construction.

If approved, the Project would traverse approximately 0.9 km of federal lands on the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site (Bar U Ranch), which is managed by Parks Canada (Parks). As a result, the CER and Parks are each required to perform an assessment under section 82 of the Impact Assessment Act for this portion of the Project. The CER and Parks will each make their own independent determination, which will be posted to the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry.

Current information about the hearing is available on the CER's webpage for the application. All hearing documents, including the application, are found in the CER's public registry.
