Power Plant and Distribution System, Op IMPACT, Ali Al-Salem Air Base, Kuwait

The Canadian Task Force on Op IMPACT in Kuwait will construct a new centralized power plant. This will include the construction of a new reinforced concrete pad with a berm, installation of two one mega-watt generators, the construct of two sun shades and a new Power Distribution Unit (PDU) concrete pad with a cable pit. This project will also include the purchase and installation of four (4) main conductor runs required to interconnect the Camp's main Power Distribution Unit (PDU) to the Camp's Secondary Distribution Units (SDUs).

November 18, 2020 - The Department of National Defence intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the Department of National Defence is inviting public comments until December 8, 2020 respecting that determination.
