YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport - Petroleum Equipment Removal

The project consists of removing two underground tanks of 10,000 L and 50,000 L, one of which is made of fibreglass, and three aboveground tanks of 1,080 L and 2,390 L, as well as all the piping. These tanks, which are no longer in use, will be emptied, removed and disposed of in accordance with current regulations. As part of this project, work will also be carried out to clean the surfaces of soiled slabs, sumps, gutters and drains, as well as cleaning the oil/water separator tank. Wash water will be recovered for treatment and disposal in accordance with regulations. The land where the tanks are located will be rehabilitated.

November 19, 2020 - Given that no comments were received and following the analysis of the environmental assessment conducted by a third party, ADM Aéroports de Montréal has determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Measures in compliance with current regulations will be taken during the work for the following elements: soil and groundwater, hazardous materials, residual materials. As a result, Enterprise may carry out the project.
